The Grand Haven Breakwater lighthouse is located in the harbor of Grand Haven, Michigan. Grand Haven Lighthouse is on the south pier of the channel where Grand River comes into Lake Michigan. A lighthouse was first established there in 1839.

Frankfort Lighthouse. The original Frankfort North Breakwater lighthouse was built in 1873 at the end of a long wooden pier with an elevated catwalk which led to the shore. In 1932, the current lighthouse was situated at the end of what is now the northern concrete pier.

Fort Gratiot Lighthouse was the first lighthouse in the state of Michigan. It was constructed north of Fort Gratiot in 1829 by Lucius Lyon who later became one of Michigan's first US Senators.

Congress appropriated $300,000 for Fort Gratiot Lighthouse in 1823 and another $500,000 in 1825. The lighhouse is 82 feet high.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is located in Jupiter, Florida, on the north side of the Jupiter Inlet. The site for the lighthouse was chosen in 1853

Jupiter Lighthouse was built on an Indian shell mound (midden). The top of the 105-foot tower is 146 feet above sea level. The light can be seen 25 nautical miles at sea.

The St. Augustine Light is an active lighthouse in St. Augustine, Florida. The current lighthouse stands at the north end of Anastasia Island and was built in 1874.

Red Sea Lighthouse Daedalus Reef (also known as Abu Kizan) is 1,312 feet long and 328 feet wide. The standalone reef is in the Egyptian Red Sea situated about 55 miles from Marsa Alam. There is a small artificial island in the center of the reef, which hosts a lighthouse constructed in 1863 and rebuilt in 1931
